Does MedicWare EMR bill patients?
MedicWare EMR does not contain automatic billing. However,
customized links are available to interface with most
practice management systems.
Does MedicWare EMR write prescriptions
and warn of any drug interactions
and contradictions?
Yes. You can write prescriptions to be printed or faxed.
You will also be warned of drug interactions, allergies,
duplicates and precautions.
What is a pen-based computer and what are the advantages
of using it?
A pen-based computer is a fully
functional computer that uses a pen and touch screen
in place of a keyboard and mouse. With a pen-based computer,
you can rapidly create CMS-compliant (formerly known
as HCFA) progress notes anytime, anywhere.
Will MedicWare work with my PDA?
MedicWare EMR PDA medical software works with all Pocket PC PDA devices. It is user-friendly PDA and Pocket PC medical software.
Does MedicWare EMR work with Palm OS devices?
Currently MedicWare EMR handheld medical software does not work with Palm OS mobile devices.
How many patient charts that can be downloaded to my Pocket PC?
MedicWare EMR doesn't download patient charts into your PocketPC. It accesses the computerized patient record directly from the MedicWare server utilizing wireless communication. Thus, you always have the most updated chart information on ALL of your patients.
Are all the features in MedicWare EMR available in Pocket PC?
Most of the MedicWare EMR features, especially charting features, are available on the Pocket PC. In fact, MedicWare EMR is one of a few Pocket PC medical software companies that support full charting capability on PocketPC. However, some MedicWare EMR features such as administrative functions are not available on Pocket PC due to the screen size of the Pocket PC.
Does MedicWare EMR support Tablet PCs?
Yes, MedicWare electronic medical record software supports and detects the Tablet PC software automatically.
Is MedicWare EMR compatible with Voice recognition software? If yes, which brand? Yes, Dragon Naturally Speaking is one of the most popular. However, there are several other brands that work just as well.
Will I be able to access my patients' medical records remotely from my PDA when I am at the hospital etc…?
Yes, As long as you have the proper wireless equipment for your PDA and you have internet access.
How secure is my patient information while being accessed remotely from the PDA?
That depends on the level of security in place on your internal network. Please refer to your internal IT personnel for those specific settings.
Does MedicWare EMR schedule appointments?
Yes, scheduling is quick and easy. Once the patient
is scheduled, their chart is automatically placed in
the MedicWare electronic medical record system. When the patient arrives at
the office for the appointment, you simply indicate
the patient's arrival with a simple click of the mouse.
How do I convert my existing paper documents into
MedicWare EMR?
Existing paper documents can be easily scanned into
the computer using a TWAIN-compatible scanner.
Is the online Doctor Appointments service HIPAA compliant?
The patient appointment software is "HIPAA ready,"
which means that the technology and coding are ready
to accept all HIPAA policies. We are currently working
toward third-party HIPAA certification and will be ready
to sign the "HIPAA Trusted Agreement" before
the deadline.
