EMR MESSAGING SPECIFICATIONS HL7 Message Listing The table below lists the HL7 messages utilized by MedicWare EMR. For each message, the segments used by MedicWare EMR are listed in table format. Any fields not listed in these segment tables indicates they are not used by MedicWare EMR, and are left blank (empty). Message Event Code Send Receive Notes PATIENT INFORMATION ADT A28   X Sent to EMR when a new patient is added into the PMS system. ADT A31   X Sent to EMR when a patient is updated in the PMS system APPOINTMENTS SIU S12   X Sent to EMR when a Patient appointment is added into the PMS system. SIU * S13   X Sent to EMR when a Patient appointment is rescheduled with a change in either the start date or time. SIU * S14   X Sent to EMR when a Patient appointment is updated in the system (one message for each subappointment that is modified). SIU * S15   X Sent to EMR when a Patient appointment is cancelled (one message for each subappointment of the cancelled appointment).
